Our little girl is not so little anymore. At 17 months old, she can put on her own shoes (but needs help with the velcro), uses "please" about half the time she asks for something, uses utensils when eating, and is showing signs of readiness for potty training. Brian and I are struggling to keep up, but yet we are so proud!
She likes to dip crackers and chips to eat her purees and beans, but will not eat the crackers or chips themselves. Odd. She often uses a fork or spoon, too, especially if it has Mickey or Minnie Mouse on it.
She ALWAYS want to play outside - she is such an explorer! Here is a picture of her asking to go outside. She'll collect pine cones/leaves/rocks, kick around a ball, or just walk around observing and touching various things.
Our bedtime routine includes taking a bath (she loves showers, too), putting on lotion and pajamas, brushing teeth (she chews more than brushes), reading a few books, singing a lullaby (still "Stay Awake" from Mary Poppins - ever since she was born), and falling asleep to the white noise of her Sleep Sheep.
She has a pink tutu that my mom sewed for her which she wears on occasion. This is the scene I came upon when picking her up from my parents' house one day - hilarious! And very cute. :)
Have I told you about her obsession with Mickey and Minnie Mouse? She often points at the TV and shouts "Mickey!" demanding that we put on the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show. We can just sing her the theme song, and she'll break into dance and sing "Hot dog!" Here is a picture of her watching TV on her bean bag (which needs more beans):
So you can only imagine her reaction when she saw these huge characters on our friends' couch:
She also seemed to really like their kids' car. I think Santa might bring one this year...
