Lazy Summer Days

At 2 years old, Natalie is 36 inches (3 feet) tall, 28 lbs., wears 3T-size clothing and size 7-8 shoes. She really isn't my baby girl anymore, and is turning into a little kid. [sniff] Okay, that probably happened a while ago, but it's just hitting me now!

Since the temperature is usually in the 90's by 10:00am, we try to do all of our outside activities before then. Here's a super-cute picture of Natalie on the swings at Brian's school:

On another Daddy-daughter adventure, Brian texted me this picture titled: "How many stuffed animals can we fit in the tunnel?"

During the hottest part of the day, we normally stay inside. Natalie has so many toys and books that it's always easy to find something to do. One of her favorites is to play toddler learning games or watch episodes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse or The Little Einsteins on the iPad, either by herself or cuddled-up with one of us. We did not plan to match in this picture - it just kinda happened.  :)

When it gets past 4:00pm, we usually take the opportunity to go swimming or Natalie will play with the hose/sprinklers/babypool in the backyard. Natalie also enjoys a cool popsicle on a warm afternoon - this picture's in my parents' backyard.

Now that the sun doesn't set until 8:00pm, Natalie doesn't fall asleep until 8:30! We've even tried the black-out curtains and putting her to bed later than the normal 7:00pm. But she won't sleep-in and still wakes up at 6:00am like a regular work week.  :(   Since she's not getting the sleep she needs at night, she is taking longer naps in the afternoon, but still only averages 11.5 hours of sleep a day, instead of the recommended 13 hours. Maybe I'm worrying over nothing? Probably...
